Ibex. Who make them? Where are they?
I'm trying to find out the thread type that they use for their purfling cutter. I think it's a 3/16 ths socket grub screw but I'm not sure of the thread type. I'm wanting the same but a longer screw so that I can use a single cutter.

Do you have any machinist friends? They could measure it and tell you the size.

You can use a single cutter by pushing the spare blade up into its slot and using it as a spacer either side of the cutter blade that you want to use.

Hey Michael,

I've spent a fair amount of time trying to source Ibex without any success. Your best bet would probably be to try contacting someone who carries Ibex products to see if they could help you.

Take it to an auto supply house or a machine shop and tell them what you need.

thanks guys. I've solved the problem for now. I found an old bolt that seems to be the right thread. Either that or it's mighty close to it. The important point is that it works, although it isn't a socket head bolt.
Strange how Ibex are so elusive. Maybe Stewmac make the Ibex tools?

Ibex makes a number of products that are widely distributed across the US and Canada, not sure about over seas. My guess is they are made somewhere overseas and sent back here to North America. I don't believe StewMac wholesales any product they manufacture to other suppliers.
